    • Hard times token, 1841. The obverse shows a left facing representation of Liberty. Above the head is a scroll with “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. Below the head is the date, 1841. In front and back of the head is a leafy branch. The reverse shows an enclosed wreath with “NOT ONE CENT FOR TRIBUTE” in the middle. Between the wreath and the border is “MILLIONS FOR DEFENCE”. Both obverse and reverse are a medium to dark brown color.
